Naomi Osaka becomes highest paid female athlete in the history of sports

Naomi Osaka, the 22 years old Japanese professional tennis player who has been ranked number one by the Women's Tennis Association has become the world's highest paid female athlete in the history of sports entertainment. Her total earnings for the previous year (in the span of 12 months) recorded $37.4 million United States Dollars, including prize money and endorsements, surpassing her rival and the recent four year highest paid female athlete, Serena Williams, the American tennis sensation, earning $1.4 million more than Williams, setting up an all-time earnings record for a female athlete in a single year.
